LCNL graduate student Elise Hopman has been awarded this year’s University of Wisconsin-Madison Award for Mentoring Undergraduates in Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities for her excellence in mentoring. Elise’s mentees have spoken at University-wide events, participated in summer research and study abroad programs, won department, university and national awards. Working in LCNL, her research assistants have made important contributions to language learning research going on in our lab. Elise’s students have successfully acquired grant funding for their independent research projects which have culminated so far in a thesis award as well as national and international conference presentations. Well done, and stay tuned for more exciting language learning research – several publications with undergraduate co-authors are currently under review and more manuscripts are in preparation!
