We are happy to welcome Misty Kabasa to the LCNL team as our new lab manager. Misty’s main focus will be to coordinate the multi-lab collaboration ‘Testing the Action Basis of Language and Language Production‘ led by Maryellen MacDonald which was awarded a UW2020 grant.
Misty studied Linguistics and Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research interests include how language acquisition and non-mainstream dialects interact with academic and social development. As a student at UW-Madison, she worked with children in Jan Edwards’ Learning to Talk lab at the Waisman Center, and conducted independent phonetics research with support from Joseph Salmons and the UW Madison Language Institute.
